The tools that we use to measure impact can often feel inappropriate and unhelpful - getting in the way of meaningful relationships and failing to reflect the complexity of what we do. Since 2020, the Old Fire Station in Oxford has been experimenting with 'meaningful measurement'.
This means developing evaluation processes that are enjoyable and rewarding, that help us to listen better, that centre the voices of those most affected by the work, and that foster collaboration. OFS does this using the Storytelling Evaluation Methodology, a human-friendly approach to evaluation based on Most Significant Change.
It has trained over 90 partners around the country in Storytelling to date, from cultural organisations (Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre and the Barbican) to charities (Age UK) to research institutions (the University of Oxford). Come along to learn how to measure your impact with stories!
